Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how No Notes (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the No Notes mobile application (the “App”). No Notes is built to keep your notes, to-dos, habits, checklists, and related media on your device. Please read this policy carefully.
1. Who we are
No Notes is provided by High Editions, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us through the in-app Feedback form in Settings, email , or visit https://nonotes.higheditions.com.
2. Our approach
No Notes is local-first. Your content is stored on your device. We do not require an account, and the App does not provide cloud sync, accounts, or a No Notes–operated backend for your notes, to-dos, habits, checklists, photos, voice recordings, file attachments, or covers (images, GIFs, or short videos).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising networks or third-party analytics / tracking SDKs in the App. In-app habit “analytics” (streaks, counts, and similar summaries) are calculated on your device from your local habit logs and are not sent to us.
3. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the App, the following may be stored locally on your device (for example via on-device storage and files managed by the App):
- Notes (including replies, formatting, tables, and attachments), to-dos, habits and habit logs, checklists, and related text or metadata you create
- Images, GIFs, or short videos you add to notes or choose as covers, copied into the App’s storage when you select or capture them
- Voice notes / audio recordings you create in notes
- Files you attach to notes from your device
- App preferences (theme, layout, display options, time format, app icon choice, home layout, and similar settings)
- Calendar import preferences (which calendars you chose to import from, if any)
- Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets — a local snapshot of to-dos and habits so widgets can show them (stays on your device; Lock Screen widgets may be visible when the phone is locked)
4. Permissions we may request
The App may ask for device permissions only to provide features you choose to use. We do not use these permissions to upload your media or calendar data to No Notes servers, because we do not operate such servers for your content.
- Photos / Photo Library — when you pick images, GIFs, or short videos for note covers or note media, or when you choose to save a note photo back to your library. We access items you select (or that you ask us to save); selected media used in the App is copied into App storage for display. We do not upload your photo library to our servers.
- Camera — when you take a photo to add to a note. Captured images are stored locally in the App. We do not upload camera photos to our servers.
- Microphone — when you record a voice note inside a note. Recordings are stored locally in the App. We do not upload voice notes to our servers.
- Calendars — when you enable calendar import for to-dos. The App can read events from calendars you allow in order to create to-dos on your device. Calendar data is processed on your device for that purpose. We do not send your calendar contents to our servers.
- Files / documents — when you attach a file to a note. The App copies the file you select into App storage for that note. We do not upload attached files to our servers.
5. Information you send to us (Feedback)
If you use Settings → Feedback, only the message you type is sent to us (via FormSubmit to ). Feedback is anonymous: we do not ask for your name or email, and we will not know who sent it unless you write that in the message. Do not include passwords or other sensitive information.
6. App Store ratings and reviews
If you use Rate us, the App may open your device’s system rating prompt or the App Store / Play Store listing. Any rating or public review you leave is handled by Apple or Google under their terms, not by No Notes cloud storage.
7. What we do not collect
We do not operate a No Notes user account system. We do not intentionally collect precise location for advertising, your contacts list, or your browsing history through the App. We do not use the App to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising (as “tracking” is commonly defined in App Store privacy disclosures).
Optional device permissions (photos, camera, microphone, calendars, files) are used on-device for the features described above. Declining a permission only limits the related feature.
8. Children
No Notes is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a No Notes account system, because we do not offer accounts. If you believe a child has sent us personal information via Feedback, contact us and we will delete that message where reasonably possible.
9. Data retention and deletion
Your notes, media, and related local content remain on your device until you delete them in the App or remove the App. Uninstalling No Notes typically deletes the App’s local data from that device (subject to your operating system’s backup behavior).
Feedback messages we receive may be retained as needed to understand product requests and for ordinary business correspondence, then deleted when no longer needed.
Device backups (for example iCloud or Google backup of your phone) are controlled by you and your platform provider, not by No Notes. If a photo is saved to your library at your request, that copy remains under your library and device settings.
10. Security
Because your content stays on your device, protection largely depends on your device passcode, biometrics, OS updates, and how you share or back up the device. Feedback is sent over HTTPS when submitted through FormSubmit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
11. International users
The App stores content locally on your device wherever you use it. If you contact us, your message may be processed in the United States or other countries where our email or FormSubmit infrastructure operates.
12. Your choices
You can decline Photos, Camera, Microphone, Calendar, or related permissions in system settings; features that need those permissions will not work until you allow access. You can stop using Feedback at any time. You can delete local content in the App or by uninstalling.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy. Material changes may also be described in an App update note when appropriate.
